Jewellery Becomes More Acceptable for Men

A recent consumer study shows that Jewellery has become acceptable for men.

Mintel report: "While the majority of men still prefer wearing watches to jewellery, a younger generation of men is becoming more interested in trend-led accessories such as sunglasses, man-bags and even bracelets." *

At Thorn Jewellery, our experience supports the evidence of a growing interest in men's jewellery and for men wearing accessories. Not only are men buying jewellery for themselves but a large number also like to receive jewellery as a gift. Innovative product in this area comes from a growing number of UK designers creating specialist male ranges, which are increasingly seen as masculine. Mintel note: "Stephen Webster has designed his gothic-rock inspired store to attract both men and women. Celebrities such as David Beckham who wear jewellery have made it more acceptable for men to wear pieces including diamonds." *
